Culminating

listen to ‘Bordie -- Contemporary Art’ on audioBoom
I feel that contemporary art is an expression of a time. It allows people to express what they see in the times they live in through art. Things from politics to wars and natural disasters are all things artists focus on when making their finished piece. It might not show it at first but when looking at the art and hearing the story, you begin to see what the artist imagines.

Our class has done more to collaborate with Japan. We received a parcel with treats, post cards, photos, and best of all; a mural our class will be working on. It shows Japans' culture as our theme is legacy. It is amazing to see to classes separated by so much, be connected through the power of art. Our class has decided to show our legacy of nature and aboriginal descents on our side. It already looks amazing thanks to the effort the artists have put in. We also plan to return the favour of treats and trinkets when we return the mural to Japan. It is very fun to do this and also very interesting.

My project

During art class for our art related to other classes I decided to make an Iron Maiden based on the fact that history and law intrigue me. I find it very interesting and the Iron Maiden was a way of discipline in medieval times. I am also incorporating the band Iron Maiden as they are my favorite band and music is a big inspiration in my life. I've used the plaster wrap and chicken wire and I have found it very effective and fun to use. I like molding the stuff and making 3D art.

My thoughts on Contemporary Art

Contemporary art is art made at the present period in time. Contemporary art includes, and develops from, Postmodern art, which is itself an improvement to Modern art.

This is my first paint I made on canvas. It shows how there is many stars in our galaxy but the sun is ours and we give it as much attention as we can as it brightens our days.

In our renaissance unit we've done a post card exchange with Apex High School in North Carolina. We've discussed many things about the renascence. We learned that art took many changes in that time. The human body was regarded more when it came to art. We also learn how Divinci was an arrest, scientist and inventor. His inventing side was my inspiration for my post card.
